This is a build for the default 39 skillpoint and works on VH. I suggest starting out picking Chillwind and Bladewind 2 — it makes the early fights much easier. I recommend picking up the campaign skills after that and the Tyrant or Warleader as soon as they are available. How soon you pick up more spells depends greatly on whether you want to have a sorceress in your army; If you do you don’t need to focus on more spells for Malekith for the longest time. I advise you do that, and the Fire sorceress you start with will do nicely. Never underestimate the carnage you can inflict with Bladewind and Burning Head when they are properly deployed, and as they are good against very different targets having access to both is very valabuable. Between your Power of Darkness, 2xArcane Conduit eventually , and given the Sorceress a Forbidden Rod once you get it, you’ll have no problem refilling your WoM pool from reserve quickly or extending the pool once depleted. Tyrant or Warleader 4 Pick the one you prefer: Tyrant is best if you want to maximize your slave economy and understand how to do so, Warleader is best if you want to see big reward numbers in battles where Malekith participates personally. Both work well. I prefer Tyrant as I love building an incredibly strong economy, but if you do not understand how to maximize your slave economy and don’t intend to learn or just don’t want to deal with the micromanagement, you should definitely pick Warleader — you’ll still be very, very, rich. If you do, get Earthing instead of Soulstealer. And that means getting the skills that support Shades as well as your elite infantry. In that case don’t take the elite infantry skills but the beast skills; You’ll still want the Shades skills. If you are playing with a skillpoint mod, obviously get Quartermaster 3 regardless of whether you play Tyrant or Warleader. This does not make a huge difference once the awesome dark elf slave economy is up and running and you are earning many tens of thousands of gold per turn, but it is very helpful in the early game and it all adds up over time; the only reason I do not recommend it in the base build is that in the mid- and late- game you’d really love those points to be elsewhere if playing with the default number of skillpoints. With shades replacing darkshards Is it best to just switch them over now? I have about coming in a turn and could prob afford a second army anyway. Also, Shades are the definition of glass cannons and they are much less durable trading missile fire with your mid-to-late game rivals, the High Elves. Their increased range and better damage compared to Darkshards are pretty much negated by Darkshards having shields and thus being more durable, so bringing Shades vs. Given an average progression trajectory, I would slowly start recruiting Shades in my armies after turn ish — and even then, I’d have a mix of Darkshards and Shades in said armies.

Been a big fan of the game since getting it during summer sale only base WH2 with mods, no WH1. However, even despite watching so many other youtubers play the game, I can’t even seem to win one campaign on Easy. I’ve been fighting as the High Elves so far, to get my feet wet since I dont have much in the way of experience with total war games besides Shogun 2, a game I never got around to beating as well. Despite a good understanding of what to do and to make a good army mostly LSG w Shields and the Sister archers with a dragon or two thrown in as cavalry I can’t seem to figure out where to go once I beat the cult of excess, the pirate chick off to the far right and the one HE guy who controls the volcano to the left. Currently I have all of those areas and just building up and fighting chaos doing the mission but I feel I should have already captured all of the mainland by turn 50 as many people seem to claim is possible. I’m not sure what Im doing wrong. I want to get better to eventually play and main the Skaven army but at this rate, if I keep losing on easy on the easiest hero and faction i’m not even sure what to do. Can anyone help me here? Confederation is just be nice to them and they’ll wanna join you eventually. Trade with them, talk about military acces, non-aggression pacts and so on.
